Geothermal systems
Geothermal systems can be an effective solution for properties with ample space. These systems can be installed beneath open areas. A geothermal system is most effective in mild climates where there is a balanced need for both heating and cooling. Although New York City and New Jersey are not the ideal climates for these systems, HLE-Inspections has successfully designed numerous geothermal projects in these areas.
However, geothermal systems are not suitable for every building. The success of a geothermal design depends on several factors including the building’s operational schedule (e.g., buildings occupied 24/7 may not be ideal), soil conditions, water movement on the site, and the spacing and depth of the wells. Given that soil temperatures vary and building operations differ, a geothermal test well is necessary. Following this, our mechanical team at HLE-Inspections can determine the best approach for your building and site.
